The National Load Dispatch Center was established on April 11, 1994 to carry out necessary preparations for putting the North-South 500kV ultra-high voltage power transmission system into operation. The center is responsible for guiding and managing power generation, transmission and distribution activities within the national grid to achieve optimal technical and economic effectiveness, ensuring uninterrupted and safe operations of the national grid.

From the beginning of 2024, the national load will grow by about 10.9% compared to the same period in 2023. Among them, the North will increase by 10.8%, the South by 12% and the Central region by 6.9%.

The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) has announced the Decision on appointing Mr. Ngo Son Hai, Director of the  National Power System Dispatching Center (A0) to the position of  EVN Deputy General Director (in charge of production field).

The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) has recently issued the Circulation No 23/2017/TT-BCT on the order of electric load adjustment which regulates that the dispatching centers are responsive to assess the need of electric load adjustment for the national and regional and local power systems.

Recently, the Management Board of  Vung Ang- Quang Trach PV Power Project in collaboration with the Contractors as Viet Nam Industrial Construction Corporation (Vinaincon),  Power engineering consulting joint stock Company 1 (PECC1), Bach Dang Construction Corporation (BĐCC) held  the Ceremony for   powering the 500kV distribution yard at Vung Ang Power  Center.

At the end of 2021, Goldwind- the top wind turbine OEM in China and the second turbine OEM supplier of the world, had just established the Goldwind Asia Remote Operation Center (known as “Goldwind Asia ROC”) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Goldwind Asia ROC will be a regional hub for innovation, development and integration with the Goldwind International ROC and Site Monitoring.

On January 15, 2022, Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee and investor consortium, including T&T Group and the Korean Hanwha Energy Joint Stock Company - HANWHA, South Korea Electricity Corporation- KOSPO and Korea Gas Corporation - KOGAS officially started the technical constituent of 1500 MW phase 1 Hai Lang LNG Power Center in Quang Tri province.

Recently, a consortium of 3 investors, Siemens Energy, KG Electric Power Corporation and Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 2 (PECC 2), has just sent a document to the Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee to submit a Pre-Feasibility Study Report and an investment proposal for Vung Ang 3 LNG Power Center in Vung Ang Economic Zone, Ky Anh town, Ha Tinh province.
