Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has expressed hope to be eligible for supplying technology to Vietnam’s nuclear power plants.  

From August 07 to 09, 2019, in Quang Ninh province, Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM) in cooperation with Quang Ninh Department of Science and Technology organized the XIII Nuclear Science and Technology Conference (VINANST-13).

On March 18th, in the framework of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Meeting held in Da Lat city (Lam Dong province), the Representative of the Russian National Atomic Energy Cooporation (Rosatom) awarded the Medals for Nuclear Technology to 6 leading scientists in the field of atomic energy, nuclear research in Vietnam.

The Prime Minister has decided to establish an interdisciplinary appraisal council for appraising pre-feasibility study report of the project on the Center of Nuclear Science and Technology, Mr. Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Planning and Investment as the Chairman and Mr. Nguyen Van Trung, Vice Minister of Planning and Investment as the Vice Chairman.

According to the information from  the U.S Embassy in Vietnam on March 5, US has supplemented Vietnam to the list of countries allowed to receive Nuclear Technology transfer and assistance.

A reliable and quality power grid is one of the most important elements helping develop industries and is a goal to strive for by Vietnam Electricity (EVN) in the future.

On August 12 in Ninh Thuan province, Press Department - Ministry of Information and Telecommunications in collaboration with the Department of Atomic Energy - Ministry of Science and Technology organized a "training course on skill for propaganda on construction of nuclear power in Vietnam", for correspondents of press agencies.

Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai requests the relevant functional agencies to perfect mechanisms and policies for the nuclear fuel cycle, radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel management.

On October 13, 2015 in Hanoi, at a meeting with the Vietnamese press, Mr. Thomas Countryman, the Assistant US Secretary of State (in charge of civil nuclear cooperation and anti-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction) said, the US desires to help and consult  Vietnam in the civil nuclear sector.

Mr. Doan The Vinh, Deputy Director of Nuclear and Thermal Power Plants Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s General Department of Energy has noted that under the national power development plan with a vision to 2030, Vietnam will require 194-210 billion kWh of electricity in 2015, 330-362 billion kWh in 2020, and 695-834 billion kWh by 2030. All this energy must be either produced domestically or imported.

Hungarian experts are ready to transmit all the  knowledge and experience on the nuclear power  they have accumulated for Vietnam.
