Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) has just sent a document to the Prime Minister for a proposal to put the Long An II Thermal Power Plant (2x800 MW) into the Power Planning VII.

Nong Son TPP with a design capacity of 30 MW has officially synchronized to the National Power System.

VnEconomy citing news from the Economic Times (India) reports that private power firm Tata Power is looking for a local partner in Viet Nam to build a 1,320 MW thermal power plant. "We are looking for a local partner in Viet Nam, we would like to keep 80 percent of the equity in the project," Tata Power Managing Director Anil Sardana told reporters in New Delhi.

At 18.00 on 23 May 2017, Unit#1 of Thai Binh1 Thermal Power Plant (TPP) has successfully connected to the National Power System.

Rosatom has proved that it can handle not only nuclear projects. In the middle of February the NIAEP-ASE joint engineering nuclear industry company put in commission the first unit of the Yuzhnouralskaya GRES-2 in the Chelyabinsk region. This is the first thermal energy object in the country where nuclear industry is a general contractor and equipment supplier. Taking into consideration the fact that by 2030 no less than 100GW of heat power are to be introduced in Russia, Rosatom now has a chance to take its niche at heat-power engineering market. Nuclear industry has everything it needs.

Korea’s Taekwang Power Holdings, which is the investor of Nam Dinh 1 thermal power plant, is keen to add a coal-fired power project in central Quang Tri province to their list of Vietnamese investments.
