The starting construction ceremony of Phuoc Thai 2 and Phuoc Thai 3 solar power projects has just taken place in Phuoc Thai commune, Ninh Phuoc district, Ninh Thuan province.

The Prime Minister (PM) has agreed with the proposal of the Ministry of Transport to supplement in Ca Na port a LNG receiving wharf with a loading capacity of 97,000 tons for the first stage (1500 MW) of LNG power center, which has added by PM in document No 749/TTg-CN dated 23/4/2020.

On September 29, 2020, in Quan The Hamlet, Phuoc Minh Commune, Thuan Nam District, Ninh Thuan Province, Trung Nam Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company (Trungnam Group) successfully energizing the first super high voltage project invested in Vietnam by private sector as 500 kV transformer substation with a capacity of 2x900 MVA and combined 500/220 kV transmission line (500kV and 220 kV lines on the same tower) with a length of 17 km for releasing power capacity of Trung Nam Thuan Nam solar power project with a capacity of 450 MW project

On August 7, 2020 in Ninh Thuan province, Mr. Nguyen Tai Anh - Deputy General Director of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), Chairman of the Investor - level Acceptance Council of EVN and members of the Council have tested and accepted and put into use the Phuoc Thai 1 solar power plant.

On April 23, 2020, in a document signed by Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung, the Government has agreed with the proposal in Document No. 2380 / BCT-DL dated on April 1, 2020 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) to supplement Ca Na (Ninh Thuan province) and Long Son (Ba Ria-Vung Tau province) LNG power centers into the National Power Development Planning (PDP).

After an over year construction in Ninh Thuan province, recently, the Bau Ngu project has been officially put into commercial operation.

The signing ceremony of the 785 billion VND credit contract for the BP Solar 1 project between Vietcombank and BP Sola JSC has just taken place in Hanoi.

The Government has approved the policy of developing Ninh Thuan province into a Renewable Energy Center (wind power, solar power) of the country; investing in Bac Ai Pumped Storage Hydropower Project; studying to develop Ca Na Gas (LNG) – Power complex (LNG) with an appropriate capacity; prioritize the synchronous construction of transmission grids and integrate wind and solar power projects into the National Power System.

According to the Department of Planning and Investment (DOPI) of Ninh Thuan province, up to now, this province has issued investment decisions for 27 solar projects with a capacity of 1,618.85 MW.

On January, 2018, in Quan the village, Phuoc Minh commune, Thuan Nam district, Ninh Thuan province, BIM Group in cooperation with AC Energy, a member company in energy sector of Ayala Corporation, one of the largest enterprises in Philippines held a ceremony for starting construction of Solar Power Project BIM 1 (project 18E).
