Supplementing Ca Na and Long Son LNG Power Centers into the National PDP

In its document, MOIT proposed to supplement into PDP VII (adjusted) the Ca Na phase I with a capacity of about 1500 MW and Long Son phase I with a capacity of 1200-1500 MW. For the both projects, the commercial operation expected by 2025-2026 and the following phase will be considered concretely in the National Power Development Planning in period of 2021-2030 with a vision up to 2045 (PDP VIII).
In order to accelerate the progress of these projects, the Government assigned the MOIT to preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to guide the contents on LNG warehouses, port, total ground plan, and power grid for connecting the power centers with the national power system; to guide also the contents on electricity tariffs regulated for LNG fired thermal power plants developed in coming period to synchronously develop power centers, for meeting the requirements on transparency, competition and overall efficiency of the national electricity system.
The Ninh Thuan and Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial People's Committees are assigned to preside over and coordinate with the MOIT, Electricity of Vietnam, and relevant functional agencies to organize bidding for selecting the investors of LNG Power projects in Power center in its province to ensure the requirements on the publicity, transparency, in accordance with the law provisions and the best efficiency for the country.
In the process of implementing investment preparation, the relevant sides would be responsible for clarifying the opinions of MOIT, relevant ministries and agencies stated in above document of MOIT.
