The investors from Thai Lan proposed to develop a petrochemical center in Thua Thien Hue province

The consortium of three Thai investors, namely Sermsang Group, AGR Group and ETS Holding Co., Ltd. proposed to invest in a petrochemical center at the newly discovered Ken Bau oil field in Phong Dien district, Thua Thien Hue province.

At the meeting, Mr. Sombat Chalermuwutinan, AGR Group Chairman expressed the wish to develop the petrochemical center project at Ken Bau oil field and energy plants and supporting industrial projects.

Mr. Sombat Chalermuwutinan informed that at present ARG is the largest rice producer in Thailand with a turnover of more than 3 million baht per year. Besides, ARG Group also invests in logistics and electricity. In Thailand, ARG receives strong support and investment from the government, so the group has enough financial potential and potentiality for implementing the proposed project.

“ARG Group has Sersamg Energy Group, a strategic partner with the strong financial potentiality and experience in developing energy projects. Therefore, it is very favorable condition for the group to invest in a petrochemical center in Thua Thien Hue,” Mr. Sombat Chalermuwutinan emphasized.

At the meeting, Mr. Tummavarankub, Sersamg CEO informed that currently, Sersamg is having many investment projects in the energy field in Japan, Vietnam, and Mongolia and Thailand.

In Vietnam, Sersamg invested in solar energy projects in Quang Ngai and wind power projects in Tra Vinh... After the success of those projects, Sersamg wishes to continue implementing more projects in Vietnam including petrochemical center in Thua Thien Hue.

Mr. Tummavarankub affirmed that all three enterprises as Sermsang Group, AGR Group and ETS Holding Co., Ltd., with their strengths, will determine to successfully implement the petrochemical center in Thua Thien Hue province. Therefore, the 3 enterprises desire to receive the supports, cares and interests from the provincial leaders for the proposed project.

The Secretary of Thua Thien Hue Provincial Party Committee Le Truong Luu welcomed Thai investors for their interest and investment in Thua Thien Hue, and said the petrochemical center in Thua Thien Hue requires a large resources, so the investors need to carefully study and affirmed that Thua Thien Hue will create the best conditions for investors to learn about and study the project.

However, this is a large project, the province must report to the Government for getting opinions to supplement it into the national energy petrochemical planning. The departments, agencies of the province will support the investors in procedures. “Immediately, Thua Thien Hue province should make land fund planning to create favorable conditions on infrastructure for the investors. I hope, at the earliest time, the investors from Thai Land successfully study the important project” the Thua Thien Hue Secretary affirmed.
