Inauguration of Ca Mau Gas Processing Plant

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan – the Politburo member, National Assembly Chairman expressed her happiness of being in Ca Mau province in the joyful atmosphere celebrating the great anniversary of the country in 2018, and attending the inauguration ceremony of Ca Mau gas processing plant.

On behalf of the Party and State, the National Assembly Chairman congratulated the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN), Vietnam Gas Corporation for having more an important project in ensuring the national energy security, making a large step in our gas industry. Ms. Ngan also asked PVN, PVGAS and the PVN subsidiaries to bring into play the successes of a new gas plant, with advanced technology, to be strong and strive to take firm steps in implementing the "Vietnam National Energy Development Strategy", stabilizing market demand, contributing to The economic development of the South West region, and to mark the good cooperation between Ca Mau province and PVN…

In his speaking, Mr. Tran Sy Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission, Chairman of PVN Member Council confirmed: it is a honor for PVN to have been assigned as the investor in Ca Mau Gas-Electricity- Fertilize Complex for exploiting and using the natural gas resource of the country from Lot PM3- CAA,  Cai Nuoc 46 in the offshore Vietnam and Malaysia overlapping area.

Ca Mau GPP is a project with a goal to implement the policy on deep processing for increase of the gas value, effective use of resource and guarantee of the national energy security. PVN assigned PV Gas as the project investor and PV Gas selected POSCO Engineering (PEN) and Vietnam Petroleum Technical Service Joint Stock Company (PTSC) as the EPC contractor of the project.

The project has a processing capacity of 6.2 million m3 gas per day, the tankers with a capacity of 8000 tons of LPG, 3000 m3 of condensate and the port system. The total investment level of the project is estimated over 10 thousand billion VND, and the EPC package is valued about 5,500 billion VND. When being put into operation, the Ca Mau GPP should provide for market about 600 tons LPG/day (200,000 tons/year), 35 tons of condensate/day (12,000 tons/year) that is added for about 10% of domestic demand market.
