Nghi Son Refinery provided market with the first consignment of products

 - On May 1, 2018, at Thanh Hoa province, the Nghi Son Oil Refinery and Petrochemical Company (NSRP) successfully provided the market with the first consignment of refinery product as gasoline RON 92 (Mogas 92).

Mr. Dinh Van Ngoc, Deputy General Director of NSRP said: "Today the workers at Nghi Son Oil Refinery site are very hapy and proud to witness the event of providing Vietnam market with the first consignment of the products…”.

Nghi Son refinery has a total investment of US$9 billion with a capacity of 200,000 barrels of crude oil per day, equivalent to 10 million tons per year, nearly double the capacity of the Dung Quat refinery.

This is a largest project in Vietnam with four investors including: Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN), Kuwait Petroleum International Company (KPI), Idemitsu Kosan Company and Mitsui Chemicals Corporation of Japan.

Construction of the project began on October 2013 and refinery operations are targeted for April 2017. The project uses the most advanced technology in world oil refining. Its products include: LPG, A92, A95 gasolines, diesel, kerosene, jet fuel, para-xilene, benzene, polypropylene and sulfur.

When officially commercial operating and running at the full designed capacity, the project will provide market with 40% of domestic petroleum demand and contribute an important part to make Nghi Son Economic Zone to become the leading economic motive force of Thanh Hoa province.
