PVN exceeds oil and gas production target in 2013

With the tireless efforts of subsidiaries, contractors and all officers and employees, after one year with the slogan "High-leveled Determination, Right Action, Good Solution, Early Finish", PetroVietnam has successfully completed the 16-million-ton target assigned by the Government at 16:20pm of December 17th, 2013 with 14 days ahead as well as exceeded the oil production output of 16.7 million tonnes that the Group committed to the Government. This is also the 5th consecutive year that PetroVietnam completes the oil and gas production target ahead of the schedule.

The overfulfilment of 2013 oil and gas production target is a gift and delight to welcome New Year 2014 and the upcoming Lunar New Year of the Horse. In the context of the country's economy difficulties due to the impact of the global economic crisis, the overfulfilment has substantially contributed to increasing revenues for the country’s stage budget and is also a source of spiritual encouragement, motivation for the petroleum workers who are days and nights clinging to the sea to continue striving for oil and gas production targets in 2014 and subsequent years.

Looking back on the accomplishment of the year, it can be seen that with a spirit of solidarity, unity and consensus, PetroVietnam has overcome many difficulties and challenges, from the strict management of exploitation of each oil layer, each oilfield to the determination to apply good solutions to operate and exceed the target for the new wells, new oilfields, new projects such as Hai Su Trang on May 19, 2013, Hai Su Den on June 19, 2013, Tho Trang on June 29, 2013, Dorado oilfield on November 20, 2013, Pirana on 25/12/2013 (Block 67 - Peru ) and especially Hai Thach - Moc Tinh gas fields – the national key projects has been operated since September 06, 2013.

The efforts and determination have created breakthroughs and brought success for the year 2013, substantially contributes to the implementation of PetroVietnam’s 5-year strategic plan for the period of 2011-2015.

Following the success of 2013, stepping into 2014 - the year of the Horse, PetroVietnam continues a new race with the slogan "Be determined, Follow-up, Speed up, Exceed the target". With that spirit and determination, PetroVietnam completely believes to be able to exceed the targets of 16.21 million tonnes of oil and 9.5 billion cubic meters of gas assigned by the Government for 2014.
