The signing ceremony took place on June 9, in Hanoi, organized by the Power Project Management Unit 2 (under Electricity of Vietnam - EVN) and the Contractor Consortium of Andritz Group (Austria) and 3C Computer - Communication Joint Stock Company - Control (Vietnam).

On November 10, 2021, in Hanoi took place a ceremony for signing a credit agreement for a preferential loan without a government guarantee with a value of 70 million Euro (equivalent to 1,900 billion VND, accounting for about 20% of total investment capital) that the French Development Agency (AFD) lends to Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) for extending Hoa Binh hydropower plant.

On May 18, in Hoa Binh city, the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprise and Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) had a meeting with Hoa Binh Provincial People's Committee to discuss the matters about expanding Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant (HPP).

Siemens has signed binding agreements for a substantial expansion of three existing thermal power plants with Ende Andina SAM of Bolivia. At 12:15 minutes on March 7, 2021, the Central Power  Management Board (CPMB) in coordination with relevant units powered the expansion elements of Doc Soi 500 kV transformer substation – belonged to the third 500 kV circuit of Doc Soi – Pleiku 2 project.

The third unit of Trung Son hydropower plant has synchronized with the National Power System just after the second one just for over a month.

The UK’s Amec Foster Wheeler Energy Limited ( Foster Wheeler) has been hired to outline a master design for the project to expand and upgrade the Dung Quat oil refinery in the central coastal province of Quang Ngai, which is expected to increase its capacity to 8.5 million tonnes per year.

On December 25, 2018 after 3 year implementation, the Da Nhim – Ham Thuan - Da my Hydropower JSC and relevant constructors carried out successfully  synchronizing the extended H5 unit of Da Nhim Hydropower Plant (HPP) with the Power System.

The Government Office has issued the Document No. 3243/VPCP-QHQT (dated on May 8, 2015) to announce the  steering opinion of the Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Hoang Trung Hai on the amendment of the Loan Agreement for Trung Son HPP financed by the World Bank (WB).

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has agreed with the proposal of Son La province on increasing the capacity of the Son La Hydropower Plant from 2,400 MW to 3,200 MW.

On October 2, 2019, in Hanoi, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed a loan agreement worth 37 million USD with Da Nhim - Ham Thuan - Da Mi Hydropower Joint Stock Company (DHD) to finance a floating solar power project, with a capacity of 47.5 MWp on the current reservoir of Da Mi Hydropower Plant.

Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung has recently signed the Decision No.389/QD -TTg on approving the investment project for extending Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant (HPP). Accordingly, the Hoa Binh HPP will be extended by an additional installing two unit with a capacity of 240 MW each (2x240MW).
