At the conference on investment promotion of Quang Binh province in 2021 held on January 17, Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Trinh Dinh Dung handed Vietnam Electricity (EVN) the Decision of the Prime Minister on approving the investment policy for Quang Trach 2 Thermal Power Plant Project. 

On December 18th, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) and National Power Transmission Corporation (NPT) organized the groundbreaking ceremony for the 500 kV projects including: constructing around 742 km of double circuit transmission line: Vung Ang - Thermal Power Plant - Doc Soi - Pleiku2; 8 feeders in distribution yard of Quang Trach Power Center; extending a number of feeders in 500kV Vung Ang, Doc Soi and Pleiku2 transformer substations; constructing three optical loop substations and three managing and operating houses for power transmission teams. 

The EVN Chairman Duong Quan Thanh recently has have a working meeting with Quang Binh provincial leadership on the Projects in Quang Trach Power Center.

The consortium of Mitsubishi Corporation (Japan), Hyundai Engineering and Construction (Korea), Construction Corporation No. 1 (Consortium MC - HDEC - CC1) has just been approved by Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) to win the bidding package. No. 15 (EPC-QT1) on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) for Quang Trach 1 Thermal Power Project (TPP).

On June 30, 2021 in Hanoi, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) and Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) held the signing ceremony of the Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement and Credit Contract for Quang Trach 1 Thermal Power Project (TPP).

On July 11, 2020 in Quang Binh, Power Project Management Unit 2 (PMU 2), and Consortium of Phu Xuan Consulting and Construction Joint Stock Company, Pacific Group Joint Stock Company and Hydraulic Engineering Construction Joint Stock Company held a ceremony for signing EPC contract for the package No 24 including coal port and jetty of Quang Trach Power Center with Quang Trach 1 and Quang Trach 2 thermal power plants (TPPs).

On January 28, Prime Minister (PM) Pham Minh Chinh chaired an online meeting with ministries, agencies and 9 provinces to promote the implementation progress of 500 kV 3-circuit line projects from Quang Trach (Quang Binh province) to Pho Noi (Hung Yen Province) with the requirement: "Definitely the latest (June 30, 2024) to complete the project."

The Nhon Trach 2 Thermopower Plant in Phuoc Khanh Commune, Nhon Trach District, Dong Nai Province, has produced more than 900 million kWh so far this year and expected to reach four million kWh by the end of the year.

In the first week of October 2019, many international investors paid special attention to shares of Nhon Trach 2 Petroleum Power Joint Stock Company (NT2). Specifically, the Panah Fund with a Headquarter in the Cayman Islands currently holding 1.9% of NT2 stock met and had a dialogue with NT2. Following, the Japanese Great Wall Company also came to learn information about production and business activities of NT2 in recent years.

The Nhon Trach 2 thermal power plant in the southern province of Dong Nai has generated 35 billion kWh for the national grid over just seven years of operation, announced the PetroVietnam Power Nhon Trach 2 company on November 20th.

On June 27, in Huong Phung commune, Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province, the Huong Phung 2 & 3 wind power projects (WPP) were started for construction.

A Memorandum on cooperation for developing Quang Tri 2 Thermal Power Project (TPP) just has been signed between Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee (PPC) and Western Korea Electricity Limited Co. (KOWEPO).

As part of the policy of the corporate social responsibility, on the morning of August 25, 2021, Doosan Vina donated nearly 2.3 billion VND to Quang Ngai province to purchase medical equipment for its third field hospital for treating Covid-19 patients.

According to Vietnam Electricy (EVN), in the framwork of China - Vietnam - Laos Electricity Sectors Summit held from 24th  to 29th in China, EVN and Shanghai Electricity Cooperation (SEC) had a meeting and signed an agreement to remove unsolved problems and make a consistence of measures to speed up the progress of Thermal Electricity power projects Quang Ninh and Vinh Tan 2.
