Starting construction of the 500 kV transmission line Vung Ang – Quang Trach – Doc Soi – Pleiku 2

- On December 18th, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) and National Power Transmission Corporation (NPT) organized the groundbreaking ceremony for the 500 kV projects including: constructing around 742 km of double circuit transmission line: Vung Ang - Thermal Power Plant - Doc Soi - Pleiku2; 8 feeders in distribution yard of Quang Trach Power Center; extending a number of feeders in 500kV Vung Ang, Doc Soi and Pleiku2 transformer substations; constructing three optical loop substations and three managing and operating houses for power transmission teams.

Vice Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung attended the groundbreaking ceremony

The total investment level of the projects is estimated around 12.000 billion VND. These projects are expected to be put into operation in May - June of 2020 after 20 months of construction.

According to EVN, these are the urgent projects in the Adjusted Power Development Planning VII (PDPVII+) with the goal of transmitting electricity from the Quang Trach Power Center to the national power system.

These projects will take an important contribution to strengthening the power supply for the Southern system in coming years, as the construction of the power plants here cannot meet the schedules planned in PDPVII+ and the existing 500 kV North – South transmission lines have been fully loaded.
