Petrovietnam has basically completed the working plan in first 6 months of 2016

Just at the beginning of 2016, in the context of the global and domestic economies having to cope with a lot of difficulties and challenges, especially crude oil prices continuously to remain low that affected all the activities of PVN. In this situation the collective team of leaders, staffs and workers of PVN strengthened solidarity, initiatively advanced facing measures and completed basic production and business targets in first 6 months as follow: exploit 14.57 million tons of equivalent oil, exceeded 6 month plan by 6.8%; provide national power system with 10.74 Twh of electricity; produce 826.5 thousand tons of nitrogenous fertilizt ofer and 3.38 million tons of gasoline, exceeded 6 month plan by 15.8%. 

The total turnover of PVN in 6 months reached VND 215.6 thousand billion and a sum paid into state budget was  VND 42.2 thousand billion.

The scientific, technologic and training activities were actively implemented; petroleum security, safety, environmental, occupational safety, fire prevention on oil &gas projects were closely supervised and seriously executed. The social welfare work was implemented actively with a spending sum of VND 120 billion.

Regarding the thrift practice and waste combat activities, all the units in the group deployed to check costs reducing in context of oil and gas price falling down and as a result, in 6 months, PVN reduced VND 4,741 billion.

The business restructuring activity was carried out promptly and seriously in accordance with requirements in decisions No 46 and No1011 of the Prime Minister.

Besides, PVN still cooperated with relative agencies to implement efficiently the petroleum searching and exploring projects and affirm the national sovereignty at the sea.

In the last 6 months 2016, PVN defines, despite some certain advantages, the global and domestic economies still facing the great difficulties and challenges, therefore PVN leadership will concentrate to direct and deploy synchronizing measures, handle timely difficulties, court opportunity to finish the targets of the last 6 month plan in the best way.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Trinh Dinh Dung, Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) praised achievements of PVN collective team in the first 6 months, 2016 and, at the same time, he also called the attention to PVN as a backbone economic group of domestic economy to ensure national energy security, contribute a large finance in state budget, so PVN has to try the best to solve difficulties to exceed the plan. Mr. Dung asked PVN to continuously promote business restructuring, investment and investment management activities, implement waste combat and policies no life assurance for employees in current difficult situation.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh, PVN Chairman on behalf of PVN collective team, accepted steering opinions of DPM Trinh Dinh Dung and committed, PVN will try the best to solve difficulties and exceed planed targets in the last 6 months, 2016.
