The Prime Minister has just issued Decision No. 240/ QD-TTg dated 24/2/2021 on establishing the Council for appraising the National Power Development Planning in 2021 – 2030 period with a vision up to 2045 (PDP VIII). Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung is assigned to be the Chairman of the Council.

On August 15, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung received Mr. Raymond Carlsen, General Director of Scatec Solar Company (Norway). Scatec Solar proposed an investment in the Tri An floating solar power plant project, with a capacity of 1,000 MW.

On March 14, 2019, Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Trinh Dinh Dung received Vice Chairman of Gazprom Group (Russia). On February 18, 2019, in Hanoi, at the working meeting with Mr. Trinh Dinh Dung, Vice Prime Minister of Vietnamese government, Mr. Khammany Inthirath, Minister of Energy and Mining of Laos informed that he discussed with MOIT, EVN and PVN about cooperation on developing hydropower projects in Laos, power interconnection and power purchase between the two countries.

In the morning of January 3, 2019, in Hanoi, Vietnam Electricity of Vietnam(EVN) held a ceremony for announcing the decisions to appoint the positions of Member of the Member Council, General Director and nominate the position of Deputy Secretary of EVN Party Committee to Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan.
