Recently, the World Bank's independent evaluation team (IEG team) of the World Bank (WB) worked with the Ministries, Agencies, National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), and the units for accessing the efficiency of Transmission power grid (TEP) funding by WB loan capital.

The Prime Minister has just adjusted the content of the Decision No. 1576 / QD-TTg dated 11/09/2015 of the Prime Minister on approving the list of the project "Investment transmission grid 3".

On June 30th 2014, the National Power Transmission Corporation, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN NPT) held a starting ceremony for construction of Duyen Hai - My Tho 500kV line Project.

At a handover meeting, the US Tangible International Cooperation Company (TICC) handed the EVNNPT the last version of the Technical Assistance project named "Information Technology Roadmap for EVNNPT" a project financed by grant fund from the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA).

At 19h06 on July 19, 2020, at 220 kV Trang Bang transformer substation, the Southern Power Project Management Board (SPMB) and relevant units organized to power and  put into operation the project for increasing transmission capacity of 220 kV Cu Chi - Trang Bang line, belonging to the project for increasing the transmission capacity of 220 kV Thot Not - Long Xuyen - Chau Doc and Cu Chi - Trang Bang lines.

​On July 28th 2018, in Hanoi, Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) has organized a program “Vietnam glory -  Impression of works" in order to glory the typical projects, which make great contribution to the construction and protection of motherland from 1975 to now. The 500 kV North- South transmission line is under management, operation by National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), it has a glory in contributing to the socio-economic development of the country.

On 20 November in Hanoi, Viet Nam’s first Viet Nam Energy Efficiency in Industry Award 2017 was officially launched. The Award is part the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (4E) Project, implemented by the Department of Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development of MoIT and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

The EVN Northern Power Corporation is targeting two basic objectives in 2014, including striving to sell electricity to 100 percent of households in rural areas and ensuring all households using electricity are charged prices as prescribed by the government. The corporation will also ensure progress on the construction of its power projects and reliable operation. One of the most important solutions is to improve investment efficiency.

With the strong commitment of the Prime Minister of Vietnam at COP26: "Vietnam will conduct greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050", increasing the proportion of wind and solar power projects in the power system should be given the highest priority. Although the wind and solar power projects are the clean energy sources, but their instability is causing difficulties and increasing the operating costs of Vietnam's power system. Applying the energy/electricity storage systems becomes necessary and important today and in the future. The scientific workshop "Applying energy storage system and efficient technology for renewable energy projects in Vietnam" was organized by the Scientific Council of Vietnam Energy Magazine in Hanoi. The workshop was an opportunity for the relevant stakeholders to share demands, challenges and experiences in applying energy storage systems (ESS) in Vietnam.
