On the afternoon of July 16, in Hau Giang province, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the inauguration ceremony of Song Hau 1 Thermal Power Plant, invested by Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN).

On the May 13 afternoon, at Thai Binh 2 Thermal Power Plant (TPP), the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) held a ceremony for successful synchronizing unit 1 of Thai Binh 2 TPP with the National Power System.

On May 4, in Hanoi, the signing ceremony of the power purchase agreement (PPA) for Song Hau 1 Thermal Power Plant was held between the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN) and the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN).

On the morning of 23 February 2022, Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Le Van Thanh came to check the progress of the Thai Binh 2 Thermal Power Project (TPP). DPM welcomed the important milestone of the Thai Binh 2 TPP as the first igniting and considered that this is an important milestone for the project to finish in 2022.

On June 14th, 2021, Doosan Vina successfully delivered the first shipment weighing 1,560 tons of main structural equipment under the Jawa 9 and 10 to the Jawa Thermal Power Plant in Indonesia after more than two months of production.

Information from Song Hau 1 Petroleum Power Project Management Board (under Vietnam Oil and Gas Group - PVN) said: As of March 15, 2021, the construction of Song Hau 1 thermal power project (TPP – 1200 MW) reaches a cumulative progress about 95.78% including construction of 98.12%, design of 99.91%, procurement of 99.91% and test of 74.85%.

On February 26, 2019, the People's Committee of Can Tho City and Power Generation Corporation 2 (Genco 2) had a meeting with JERA Company (Japan) on solution of using liquefied national gas (LNG) replacing FO for 660 MW O Mon 1 Thermal Power Plant (TPP).

In the morning of November 22, 2019 in Hai Khe commune, Hai Lang district, Quang Tri province, Thailand International Power Company (EGATi) organized the starting ceremony for constructing Quang Tri 1 BOT Thermal Power Plant (TPP).
