Keel laying for biggest made in Vietnam jack-up drilling rig

Representatives of PetroVietnam, VietsoPetro and PV Shipyard General Contractor held a Keel laying Ceremony for Tam Dao 05 jack-up rig.
Tam Dao 05 jack-up rig is designed on Friede and Goldman JU-2000E models (United States) with a 18,000 tons total weight, capable to operate at an over 120 m (400ft) depth of sea water and to drill up to a 9000m (30.000ft) depth of sea bottom.
Tam Dao 05 Jack-up rig is worth US$ 230 million and expected to be completed after 32 months of construction. This is the second jack-up rig made completely by the member units of the PetroVietnam Oil after the Tam Dao 03 jack-up rig that has been putting operation since 2012.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son, Chairman of PVN Member Council is speaking at the Ceremony.
Speaking at the Ceremony, Mr. Nguyen xuan Son, Chairman of PVN Member Council impressed: “The manufacture of Tam Dao 05 rig also contributes to ensure energy security and shows sovereignty to the national resources”.

PV Shipyard General Director Mr. Phan Tu Giang affirmed: Up to now, Tam Dao 05 jack-up rig manufacturing project has experienced 318 absolutely safe working days among a 975 days total constructing progress schedule. Today Keel laying Ceremony has also marked one of fives the most important milestones of Tam Dao 05 project.
This is the second time, PV Shipyard and Vietsopetro to hold a ceremony for acknowledging essential milestones of Tam Dao 05 jack-up rig after the Starting Ceremony of its manufacture on December 10, 2013.
