Maccor was founded in 1986 by a group of electronics and software engineers with experience in the battery industry. Our goal then was to build the finest test equipment available and to support it comprehensively. This continues to be our goal and our only business today, after over 36 years in operation.

With the strong commitment of the Prime Minister of Vietnam at COP26: "Vietnam will conduct greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050", increasing the proportion of wind and solar power projects in the power system should be given the highest priority. Although the wind and solar power projects are the clean energy sources, but their instability is causing difficulties and increasing the operating costs of Vietnam's power system. Applying the energy/electricity storage systems becomes necessary and important today and in the future. The scientific workshop "Applying energy storage system and efficient technology for renewable energy projects in Vietnam" was organized by the Scientific Council of Vietnam Energy Magazine in Hanoi. The workshop was an opportunity for the relevant stakeholders to share demands, challenges and experiences in applying energy storage systems (ESS) in Vietnam.

On November 24, 2021, with the support of the State central management agencies, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), the Office of the National Steering Committee for Electricity Development (ONEDSC), the Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERAV), the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), a number of Vietnamese and international organizations and enterprises… The Scientific Council of Vietnam Energy Magazine will organize a workshop on “Application of the energy storage systems and technologies for efficiency improvement of the renewable energy (RE) projects in Vietnam”.

Recently, JinkoSolar Holdings Co., Ltd. On the morning of September 5, the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) and the United States Agency for Trade and Development (USTDA) held a ceremony to sign the Financing Agreement for the Project on Technical Cooperation to study developing the energy storage systems in Vietnam.

The international seminar “ New technologies on electricity supplies and grids, renewable energy and energy storage system” held by Vietnam Energy Association (VEA) and Korea ESS Industries Development Association (KEIDA) in cooperation with Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), PetroVietnam (PVN) and Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (Vinacomin) on 14/3/2017 in Hanoi and 16/3/2017 in Ho Chi Minh city.

Finalizing and analizing the results of "Scientific conference on application of energy storage systems and technologies to improve efficiency for renewable energy projects in Vietnam" held at the end of November 2021 in Hanoi, the Scientific Council of The Vietnam Energy Magazine has just published a report on a need and role of electricity storage systems in power system with a high renewable energy (RE) rate as Vietnamese power system (Today, RE capacity is 27.2 % of the national power system capacity and this figure should be 41.5 % in 2045 as by draft PDP VIII).

At the morning of October 28, 2019, in Thi Vai port, Tan Phuoc Commune, Phu My Town, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) and Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) started to construct Thi Vai LNG Storage Project (phase 1) with a capacity of 1 million tons LNG per year.

The Government has approved the policy of developing Ninh Thuan province into a Renewable Energy Center (wind power, solar power) of the country; investing in Bac Ai Pumped Storage Hydropower Project; studying to develop Ca Na Gas (LNG) – Power complex (LNG) with an appropriate capacity; prioritize the synchronous construction of transmission grids and integrate wind and solar power projects into the National Power System.

On June 4, 2021 at SNEC 2021, Shanghai, China, Huawei’s smart string energy storage system (ESS) for residential use, the LUNA2000, received 2PfG 2511 and VDE-AR-E 2510-50 certificates from TÜV Rheinland, a Germany-based testing and certification service provider. Li Weichun, Global Head of Power Electronics Business Segment and General Manager of Greater China Solar & Commercial Products at TÜV Rheinland and Zhou Tao, Vice President of Huawei Smart PV, were present at the award ceremony.

PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) will be the supplier of a floating storage and offloading (FSO) system to the project of developing the Sao Vang-Dai Nguyet gas fields, which is invested by Japanese firm Idemisu Kosan.

On September 25, in Hanoi, Mr. Pham Hong Phuong, A Deputy General Director of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) worked with a group of sponsors of the Bac Ai Pumped Storage Hydropower project including the French Development Agency (AFD), the European Investment Bank (EIB), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), German Reconstruction Bank (KfW).

The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) has just proposed to the Government and the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) to make the mechanisms for rapidly developing renewable energy projects in the Northern region to avoid the risk of electricity shortage in the near future.

On November 16th, Sungrow, the global leading inverter solution supplier for renewables, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with AIT COPR to provide energy storage system (ESS) for renewable energy plants, and off-grid systems.
