This is a project on technical cooperation funded by USTDA with a grant aid of US $ 755,160 (equivalent to more than VND17 billion) for the goal to review in detail the current situations of the power system in Vietnam.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Duong Quang Thanh - Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVN confirmed: with the policy of supporting the prices of solar power, wind power and other forms of renewable energy that has been issued, in coming time the renewable energy, especially the solar and wind power projects should be strongly developed in Vietnam. This poses the major challenges in the operation of the power system.
According to Mr. Duong Quang Thanh, since now, Vietnam Power System should be fully and comprehensively prepared on the technical standards, relevant regulations and operational processes in order to mobilize with maximal efficiency new energy sources which will be connected to the national power system in the near future.
“The US is well known as a world leader in the science and technology development, so the experience of the United States in energy storage will be a valuable development experience for Vietnam. It is also the cooperation potential between power sectors of the two countries in the future" said Mr. Duong Quang Thanh.
