The VEA delegation in a working visit to China

 - On September 11-16, 2016, a Vietnam Energy Association (VEA) delegation headed by the VEA Chairman Tran Viet Ngai participated in the 13th China - ASEAN (CAEXPO 2016) Fair and the 13th Trade and Investment China – ASEAN Summit Conference (CABIS 2016) held in Nanning, the Capital City of the Choang Ethnic Minority Autonomous Area, Southern China.

VEA delegation included its member unit representatives, and Energy Science Council members.

In the framework of the visit, VEA Chairman gave a speech  at the China – ASEAN Electric Power Cooperation and Development Forum 2016. The VEA delegation visited and had a working meeting with the China Electricity Council (CEC). The delegation also visited the Guangxi Power System Dispatching Center and a number of businesses manufacturing renewable energy, power line and transformer substation equipment in Nanning City.

Working with VEA delegation, Mr. Yang Kun, Executive Chairman of CEC introduced the current situation and development trend of China's power industry, reviewed the situation of China – Vietnam cooperation in power sector in recent years and proposed the new cooperation trend with VEA as well as Vietnam power sector in coming time.

Mr. Tran Viet Ngai - VEA Chairman also introduced the activities of the VEA, the current situation, development objectives of Vietnam Electricity Industry, the role of the China Electricity businesses in the development of Vietnam's energy sector.

The two sides discussed the potential for cooperation in future through establishing a long-term cooperation mechanism on communication, organization of annually periodic working missions between the two associations, support to organize events, information exchange, cooperation for implementing projects, promoting the power cooperation between Vietnam and China by the practical actions, regularly organizing meetings between the high level delegations of the two sides with an once a year expectation or may be changing in accordance with the actual needs in future.

The two sides have signed a "Minutes on Cooperation" and agreed to establish a joint working group to follow up and promote cooperation progress.
