Energizing the third line of the 500kV project (Quynh Luu - Thanh Hoa section)

The Quynh Luu - Thanh Hoa 500kV line project is invested in by EVNNPT, managed by CPMB, and operated by Power Transmission Company 1, the project is 92 km long, passing through Nghe An and Thanh Hoa provinces. The project has 200 foundation locations, with 99 line corridor anchorages. The project was implemented on January 18, 2024 and was unanimously approved by the Acceptance Council Investor to be energized on the morning of August 19, 2024.

EVNNPT leaders and related units witness the moment of energizing the project.

According to the direction of the Prime Minister, the line must be completed to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.

After completion, the project will help reduce the load and avoid overloading of existing 500 kV lines to ensure the N-1 criteria.

The line will also help improve transmission capacity on the North-Central interface and combine with the 500 kV lines Quang Trach - Quynh Luu, Thanh Hoa - Nam Dinh 1 and Nam Dinh 1 - Pho Noi, contributing to supplementing capacity from power plants in the North Central region to the load center in the North.

Mr. Truong Huu Thanh, EVNNPT Deputy General Director said that during the implementation process, the project has always received attention and direction from the Prime Minister, Ministries, Agencies, and leaders of the EVN. Along with that was the support of authorities at all levels - where the project passes through, the consensus and joint efforts of the people who have given up land for the project, have participated in supporting the construction of the foundation excavation phase.

The 500 kV Quynh Luu - Thanh Hoa transmission line project was completed and energized on August 19, 2024, meeting the Prime Minister's directive.

According to the leader of EVNNPT, in addition to favorable factors, the project implementation process encountered many difficulties when the power line passed through many mountainous areas, many locations in the forests, and where the foundation excavation required a very large amount of rock.

Along with that, the volume of steel poles was very large while the progress was required in a short time, EVNNPT together with CPMB and contractors has made efforts to focus on production, implementing the specific solutions to speed up the production progress.

To meet the required progress, the Prime Minister directed that in a short period, many work items have been deployed simultaneously such as construction and installation, pole erection, wire pulling, installation of positioning frames, and technical calibration. Therefore, in addition to the main force of EVNNPT units and construction contractors, EVN has mobilized 5 power corporations to participate in supporting the construction with a large number of qualified, experienced and skilled workers.

Previously, on the morning of August 19, 2024, under the chairmanship of EVNNPT Deputy General Director, and Chairman of the Investor-level Acceptance Council, Mr. Truong Huu Thanh chaired the Council meeting and the Council members agreed to energize the project.

With the importance of the project, not only for EVNNPT, EVN's power units and other units have shown a high spirit and responsibility when participating in supporting with great enthusiasm, making great efforts, and not afraid of difficulties and hardships. Along with that, EVN also received support from construction personnel from Military Regions 3 and 4, Viettel Group, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, and Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group... to participate in supporting the construction of poles and pulling wires for the project.

The completion and energizing of the project met the requirements of the Prime Minister's direction.
