One part of the program involves bringing a team of doctors and health care management experts from CAU to Quang Nam Central General Hospital (QNCGH) in support of the medical and management staff at the hospital.
During June the CAU doctors and experts worked with the QNCGH staff on techniques for goiter and knee surgery, patient care, medical equipment technology and operational management.
Dr. Kang Kyung Ho who is also a professor at CAU said, “With Goiter disease it is important not only to know the surgical techniques to necessary to cure the disease, but also how to reconstruct the affected area so that it is aesthetically pleasing.”
In addition to the goiter surgery training another team of CAU doctors will come to Vietnam to teach the latest skills for knee surgery.
“Through the Q-Health program, my colleagues and I have had the opportunity to learn the techniques, skill and current practices used in Korea. This not only gives us more confidence in our specialty, but contributes to QNCGH’s development as one of the top health care centers in Central Vietnam,” said QNCGH’s Dr. Luong Thanh Vi.
Q-Health is but one of Doosan’s medical CSR programs in Vietnam. Also happening during July will be the sixth annual week long medical which will begin on July 7th. After the week of medical service in Quang Ngai Province that will see 2,500 local people receive health care, CAU and Doosan Vina will take the three children suffering from congenital heart disease to Korea for specialized treatment.
