EVN and CSGI discuss a plan for promoting the bilateral and multilateral electricity commerce

 - On August 15, in Hanoi, Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan - General Director of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) had a meeting with Mr. Ho Phi Hung - Deputy General Director of China Southern Power Grid International Co., Ltd. (CSGI) under China Southern Power Grid Company (CSG).

At the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue developing electricity cooperation in the region, forming a regional integrating power system in the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS), as well as within ASEAN, and promote bilateral and multilateral electricity commerce.

EVN and CSG have nearly 20-year cooperation in cross-border electricity purchases and in the last April, EVN and CSG signed a long-term strategic cooperation agreement.

The CSG delegation has a working meeting with EVN.

In the agreement, EVN and CSG established a cooperation framework for strengthening cooperation in developing the power plants, power transmission, and distribution, and trading customer service, electricity import, and export, organizational restructure, digital transition as well as training the human resources in the electricity industry.

At the meeting, Mr. Ho Phi Hung and Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan exchange the relevant items for implementing and signing the long-term strategic agreement minutes.

In particular, the two sides agreed to continue developing electricity cooperation in the region, forming a regional integrating power system in GMS economic cooperation program, as well as within ASEAN and promoting bilateral and multilateral electricity commerce.

Besides, CSGI and EVN also discussed the cooperation extended in the digital transition of the power industry in the near future.
