At Thuan Dao Industrial Park, Long An Province, Vietnam CNG Joint Stock Company held a Ceremony for starting the construction of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply station.

In a mission to the Russian Federation (from September 19 to 23), Mr. Le Manh Hung - General Director of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) and the delegates had a visit and working meeting at the oil and gas fields blocks under the Rusvietpetro Joint Venture a joint venture between PVN and Zerubrezhneft, in the Russian Federation.

On September 11, in Hanoi, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh worked with the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) to assess the world energy situation, forecast the upcoming situation and determine the roles and tasks solutions to speed up the implementation of a number of key projects, handle difficulties, problems and recommendations of PVN.

Information from Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee (PPC) said that the leaders of Sermsang Group, AGR Group and ETS Holding Co., Ltd (Thailand) had a meeting with Mr. Le Truong Luu, Secretary of Thua Thien Hue Provincial Party Committee and other leaders with a proposal to invest in a petrochemical center in Thua Thien Hue province.

The Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) informed that Mr. Le Manh Hung - General Director has just chaired a meeting about the status of implementing ‘value chains’ in Vietnam Oil and Gas industry. At this meeting, PVN and its member units assessed the status of implementing recent ‘value chains’ and discussed and unified forward achieving goals.

At the construction site of Vietsovpetro Port, the Vietnam - Russia Joint Venture Vietsovpetro (NDH) has launched the superstructure block of Ca Tam 2 (CTC-2) rig for installation at the Ca Tam field in Lot 09-3/12, in about 160 km southeast of Vung Tau City.

On August 2, in Da Nang City, the Economic Committee of the National Assembly (NA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Trade held a workshop to collect opinions on the Petroleum Law (amended) for further improving the draft Law to submit to the National Assembly for considering and approving it at the next fourth session. This is an important bill, expected to establish a fully worked-out and synchronous legal framework for promoting and developing petroleum activities. Especially for restoring the attractiveness of the investment environment in the petroleum sector and not wasting the national fossil resources.

At the Quang Ninh Provincial Investment Promotion Conference in 2022 "Converging and Spreading", the Representative of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee (PPC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on investment in Quang Yen Stavian Petrochemical Plant project (valued 1.5 billion USD) for Quang Yen Stavian Petrochemical Joint Stock Company and Bac Tien Phong Industrial Park Joint Stock Company.

Attending the meeting on Sembcorp’s side were Mr. Jaya Ratnnam - Singapore Ambassador to Vietnam; Mr. Koh Chiap Khiong - General Director of Sembcorp Southeast Asia; Ms. Pham Thu Hang - General Director of Vietstar Training and Consulting Joint Stock Company, Director of Vietnam - Singapore High Level Forum; with the leaders of Sembcorp’s divisions. On the side of Petrovietnam, there was Mr. Bui Minh Tien - member of the Board of Directors; Mr. Pham Tien Dzung - Vice President; Mr. Nguyen Duy Giang - Deputy General Director of Petrovietnam Power Corporation (PV Power); together with representing leaders of the Group’s Divisions/ Administration Office.

In order to meet the increasing market demand from power plants, industrial and civil customers, while domestic gas sources are on the decline, the import of LNG to make up for the shortfall The shortfall is a necessary solution to ensure national energy security and serve the country's development.

Exchanging with Mr. Douglas Kelly - Chairman of USA Kellogg Brown & Root Technology Solutions Company (KBR) on June 6, in Hanoi, Mr. Hoang Quoc Vuong, Chairman of the Member Council Board of Vietnam Petroleum Group (PVN) proposed KBR apply a number of new technologies and technical solutions in the project of upgrading and expanding Dung Quat Oil Refinery plant, as well as participating in the investment to develop the Long Son Energy and Petrochemical Complex.

On 24th May 2022, at the headquarters of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam), Chairman of the Board of Directors Hoang Quoc Vuong had a meeting and worked with the delegation of the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) led by Mr. Mark Hutchinson - Chair of the Southeast Asia Task Force.

On the occasion of visiting and working in the United States, in Washington, D.C., Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Roger Jenkins - General Director of Murphy Oil (USA).

On May 9, 2022, during a business trip to the US, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) and Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR) had working sessions with partners/suppliers of crude oil in Houston (USA).
