On 29/6/2021 in Hanoi, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) and the French Development Agency (AFD) held the signing ceremony of credit agreement for the preferential loan without government guarantee, worth €74.7 million for the Ialy extended Hydropower project (HPP).

On June 22, in Hanoi, took place the signing ceremony of financial commitment between Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) and French Development Agency (AFD) for Hoa Binh Extended Hydropower Project (EHPP).

On February 14, 2023, in Hanoi, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) and the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (AGRIBANK) held a ceremony to sign a credit contract worth VND 2,400 billion for the extended Ialy Hydropower Project. The extended Ialy Hydropower Project has been approved by the Prime Minister for investment policy, and its feasibility study project was approved by the Committee for Management of State Capital at Enterprises.

On April 28, in Hanoi, Power Project Management Board 2 and Consortium of Contactors as the Corporation of Industrial Machinery and Equipment, Mechanical Research Institute, Electromechanical Construction Corporation, and LILAMA10 Joint Stock Company signed a contract for package No 41 (TB-2) to supply the hydro-technic equipment and technical services for the Ialy Extended Hydropower Project.

Laos Government should consult Mekong River Commission (MRC) on the construction of a new hydropower project which is projected to begin late this year, said Vietnamese senior state officials at a recent press conference of the 2nd MRC Summit 2014 in Ho Chi Minh city.

On December 12, 2015, at the Da Nhim Hydropower Plant (HPP) in Lam Son commune, Ninh Son district, Ninh Thuan province, Da Nhim - Ham Thuan - Da Mi  JSC under the Power Generation Corporation 1 (EVN Genco1) held a groundbreaking ceremony of Da Nhim hydropower plant  extending project.

Thac Ba 2 Hydropower Project with an installed capacity of 18.9 MW will be built on the Chay River in Yen Binh district, expected to be started in June 2022.

At 5.47 am Feb. 15, 2017, the Unit No1 of Trung Son Hydropower Plant (HPP has officially synchronized with National Power System. This is the first hydropower project in Vietnam invested by World Bank (WB) funds.  

The Coc Sau Hydropower Project (HPP) developed by Lao Cai Renewable Energy Joint Stock Company (LCRE) has been just inaugurated.

According to Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) a Credit Agreement on financing Ban Ang Hydropower project (HPP) has been signed between Vinh Vietcombank and Nam Mo – Nam Non Joint Stock Hydropower Company.

On the afternoon of September 26, 2022, Thac Ba 2 Hydropower Joint Stock Company (TBC2) signed a credit contract for Thac Ba 2 hydropower project with Vietnam Single Limited Shinhan (Shinhan), consulting contract for management and construction supervising (PMC) with Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 2 (PECC2).

On November 10, 2021, in Hanoi took place a ceremony for signing a credit agreement for a preferential loan without a government guarantee with a value of 70 million Euro (equivalent to 1,900 billion VND, accounting for about 20% of total investment capital) that the French Development Agency (AFD) lends to Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) for extending Hoa Binh hydropower plant.

On April 27, 2021, in Hanoi, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) and the contractor consortium: Lung Lo Construction Corporation, Truong Son Construction Corporation (Ministry of Defense), Song Da Corporation, Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Joint Stock Corporation, LILAMA 10 Joint Stock Company held the Signing Ceremony of Contract for Package 37 (XL-05) - "Constructing and installing extension Ialy Hydropower Project".

The Government has approved the policy of developing Ninh Thuan province into a Renewable Energy Center (wind power, solar power) of the country; investing in Bac Ai Pumped Storage Hydropower Project; studying to develop Ca Na Gas (LNG) – Power complex (LNG) with an appropriate capacity; prioritize the synchronous construction of transmission grids and integrate wind and solar power projects into the National Power System.

Yen Bai provincial people’s committee (PPC) and relevant departments, and SOLKISS Company Ltd (Korea) have had a working meeting on preparing a  Solar PV Project on Reservoir of Thac Ba Hydropower Plant.
