Starting out Da Nhim Hydropower Plant Extending Project

Speaking at the ceremony, DPM Hoang Trung Hai high appreciated the project in contribution to a step ahead going power development task to meet the requirements for socio-economic development, ensure security, national defense of the country in the condition of international economic integration and make Vietnam basically become an industrial country in the modernization direction by 2020.
The Da Nhim HPP Extending Project is a 80 MW new unit combined with the 160 (4x40) MW existing plant since 1960. After complete extending, the total capacity of Da Nhim HPP will be 240 MW. The new components to be built are: the water intake; pressure tunnel, pressure tank, valve house, penstock, powerhouse (water reservoir, weir, spillway, outlet channel used commonly with the existing plant).
The total land area of the project is 31.25 hectares. Total investment about VND 1,952 billion, of which 85% is Japanese ODA loan and 15% - Investor counterpart fund.

The Project investor is Da Nhim - Ham Thuan - Da Mi JSC. When coming into commercial operation, the Da Nhim HPP Extending project will supply electricity to the National Power System with a capacity of 80 MW and the average output of about 99 million kWh.
According to the plan, the extending project will be completed and put into the test running in Quarter 1, 2018 and commercial operation in Quarter 2, 2018.
