Starting out the project for power supplying Cu Lao Cham island by the national electricity network

This project was agreed by Government on a policy in May, 2014, it’s Investment project and construction drawing design, estimate approved by Ministry of Industry and Trade in December, 2014 and December, 2015 respectively.
The size of the project includes 15.48 km of 22kV submarine cable,17.214km of 22kV overhead line, 6 distribution transformer substations of 22 / 0.4 kV with a 900 KVA total capacity, 11km of 0.4 kV and auxiliary equipment. The total investment level of the project is VND 484.815 billion, of which 85% from the central budget and 15% from EVNCPC. The project is expected to be completed before Jun 30, 2016.
Mr. Duong Quang Thanh - Chairman of the EVN Board of Directors said: "Electricity of Vietnam always considers to bring electricity to the remote, especially difficult areas, borders and islands is a task of focus and primary concern. Today EVN has supplied electricity for 9/12 islands as Ly Son (Quang Ngai province), Phu Quoc, Kien Hai (Kien Giang province), Phu Quy (Binh Thuan province), Van Don, Co To (Quang Ninh province), Cat Hai (Hai Phong city), Con Dao (Ba Ria - Vung Tau city), Bach Long Vy (Hai Phong province). The island districts and communes with the important strategic positions on the sea as Phu Quoc, Co To, Ly Son and Kien Hai have been stably powered by national electricity network from EVN investment for meeting the demand of the people’ welfare and economic development, and contributing to the cause of protecting the waters sovereignty of the fatherland.
