The ceremony on launching the first 500kV transformer in Vietnam

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Vu Cuong - Secretary of the Party Committee, General Director of the Corporation said: Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Corporation - Joint Stock Company (EEMC), a Labor Hero unit, was established in 1971 from the forerunners as Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Repair plant and Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Manufacturing Company with tradition and many years of experience in designing, manufacturing, supplying and repairing electrical equipment for power grids in the whole country.

EEMC was the company that manufactured 500kV single phase transformers for transmission grid.

In order to promote the capacity building of the domestic companies, the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Industry and Trade directed EVN to implement a special bidding mechanism for the package for procurement of 500kV-467 MVA, three-phase, standby, step-up transformers for Son La - Lai Chau Hydropower plants. On May 26, 2016 the contract with EEMC on supplying these transformers was officially signed and took effect

To make the results of this national scientific and technologic subject sustainable, contribute to helping domestic enterprises improve their capacity and create competitiveness in the 500kV transformer market, Department of Science and Technology (Ministry of Industry and Trade) suggested that Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Corporation should continue to perform better the following tasks:

1. Review and study to perfect the technological processes.

2. Improve the management system for quality in the process for producing and testing products.

3. Coordinate with Electricity of Vietnam to develop and propose mechanisms and policies to actively participate in the market of 500kV transformers to submit to competent authorities for considering and approving the subject in accordance with the current regulations.

It should be affirmed the ceremony on launching the 500kV step-up transformer MBA is a very important milestone in the development of Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Corporation as well as the results of scientific and technological tasks at national level, managed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
