Announcing the national standards on using the ash and slag of TPPs for aggrandizement materials

TCVN 12249: 2018 completed after appraisal of Institute for Construction Science and Technology and comments of Ministry of National Resources  Environment (MONRE) and Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) regulates a number of technical specifications for ash and slag of coal TPPs distinguished from ash and slag of biomass TPPs as the aggrandizement materials, including: pollution parameters and limits in water extracted from ash and slag must satisfy the requirements for industrial wastewater, volume swelling measure and safe radioactivity indexes

Previously, on April 12, 2017, the Prime Minister issued Decision No.452/QD-TTg for approving the project on speeding up to treat and use ash, slag and plaster of the TPPs, chemical and fertilizer plant as raw materials for construction materials and in construction projects. 

In this decision Prime Minister also assign the related ministries and sectors to compile, appraise and issue the standards, technical regulations and codes, technical guidelines and economic norms, regulations to handle and use ash and slag as the raw materials for construction materials and in construction projects.
