At the opening ceremony, notable attendees on the Vietnamese side included Mr. Tạ Đình Thi – Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment, leaders from the Electricity Authority (Ministry of Industry and Trade), the State Agency for Technology and Innovation (Ministry of Science and Technology), the VEA, and representatives of Vietnam’s energy enterprises. On the Chinese side, Mr. Yang Kun – Standing Vice Chairman of the China Electricity Council – attended alongside Chinese energy and environmental company representatives.

In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Thai Sơn – Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Energy Association – emphasized that Vietnam’s power sector must achieve an annual growth rate of 12-15% to support national economic growth of over 8%, and more than 10% in the coming years.
He also highlighted the critical need to transition away from fossil fuels. The expansion of renewable energy sources is now the main trend in the energy sectors of Vietnam, ASEAN, and China. The recently approved Revised Power Development Plan VIII paves the way for further development of renewable, nuclear, and energy storage technologies. China, with its strong expertise in low-carbon energy, is seen as a vital partner in regional energy cooperation.

Mr. Yang Kun, Standing Vice Chairman of the China Electricity Council, welcomed the Exhibition, noting that it commemorates the 70th anniversary of Vietnam–China diplomatic relations and follows the recent state visit by President Xi Jinping to Vietnam. He underlined the significance of the Exhibition in fostering sustainable green energy cooperation between the two nations.
China’s total installed capacity of green energy has surpassed 1,460 GW, achieving the target six years ahead of schedule. Mr. Yang proposed strengthening cooperation in energy policy, the development of renewable energy technologies, and advancing the digital economy, electric vehicles, and energy storage technologies.
During the Exhibition, several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between: VEA and CEC; VEA and the Guangxi Environmental Protection Industry Investment Group Co., LTD; Vietnam Automation Association and the Guangxi Environmental Protection Industry Investment Group Co., LTD.

At VCAE EXPO 2025,, the Vietnam Energy Association and the China Electricity Council presented Certificates and Commemorative Medals to Gold and Silver sponsors of the event.

After pressing the opening button, the delegates toured the exhibition booths. Vietnamese enterprises such as the Northern Power Corporation, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVN units), and Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Corporation showcased domestically produced electrical equipment and solutions, including high-voltage line monitoring systems using drones and 500 kV transformers.
