The successful energization of these transformers, enabling the Clements Gap BESS substation to enter commercial operation, plays an important role in enhancing grid stability and strengthening power supply capacity in the region. At the same time, this milestone marks a significant step in EEMC’s journey toward establishing its brand presence in the international market, particularly in markets with stringent technical requirements.

On-site assembly of the transformer commenced on September 26, 2025. Mr. Nguyen Hong Giang, Chief Engineer of EEMC, directly supervised and guided the installation process, coordinated inspection, acceptance, and handover procedures, and provided operational training for the substation’s technical staff.

Earlier, in May 2025, experts from Australia directly participated in the factory acceptance tests (FAT), which included 18 testing items conducted in accordance with strict international standards and the specific technical requirements of the Australian power sector, particularly in terms of safety, lightning withstand capability, and stable operation under high-temperature conditions. The partner highly appreciated the aesthetic design and manufacturing quality of the 70 MVA - 132/33 kV transformer, confirming that it fully met the conditions for transportation, installation, and operation in Australia.

The 70 MVA - 132/33 kV transformer was supplied under a contract signed between EEMC and PSD (Australia) and represents EEMC’s first transformer export contract to the Australian market. This product features a high voltage level and complex technical requirements, and was independently designed, manufactured, and fully tested by EEMC’s engineering team.

Factory acceptance was completed in early July 2025, with all 18 test items carried out under the direct supervision of Australian experts, ensuring strict compliance with international standards and the specific requirements of Australia’s power system.

Throughout the testing and acceptance process, customer experts continued to express high confidence in the quality, workmanship, and overall finish of the product, as well as in its safe and stable operation in Australia - one of the world’s most demanding markets in terms of technical standards.

The successful export and operation of the 70 MVA – 132/33 kV transformer in a highly demanding yet high-potential market such as Australia not only affirms EEMC’s design and manufacturing capabilities and brand credibility, but also contributes to the implementation of Vietnam’s policy orientation toward building a self-reliant economy and enhancing the global competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises, in line with the directions of the Party and the State./.
