EVN and Samsung SDI Vietnam Discuss Energy Storage Cooperation Opportunities

During the meeting, the two sides discussed development orientations for energy storage solutions, shared information on demand and application potential within the power system, and reviewed possible forms of collaboration in line with practical conditions and current regulations in Vietnam.
Representatives of Samsung SDI Vietnam noted that the company’s energy storage battery solutions have been deployed in many countries, including numerous large-scale battery energy storage projects serving national power systems and industrial loads. Some of these projects have capacities of hundreds of megawatt-hours and are operated under stringent safety standards.
Recognizing the significant potential for energy storage development in Vietnam, Samsung SDI Vietnam expressed its interest in further discussions to better understand Vietnam’s development direction, with a view to studying opportunities to provide solutions tailored to local conditions in the coming period.
EVN’s leadership highly appreciated Samsung SDI Vietnam’s interest in Vietnam’s energy storage sector, emphasizing EVN’s approach to selecting technical solutions that are suitable for practical conditions while ensuring safety, economic efficiency, and the stable, long-term operation of the power system.
The two sides agreed to continue technical exchanges as a basis for further research and consideration of appropriate cooperation opportunities in the future.
