Bac Lieu wind power farm has achieved the milestone of 1 billion kWh

Construction of Bac Lieu wind power project with a capacity of 99.2 MW and annual average output of 320 GWh was officially started on September 9, 2010.

The project with an investment level of 5,000 billion VND including 62 wind turbines by capacity of 1.6 MW each divided into 2 phases. The first phase with a capacity of 16 MW (10 turbines), an output of 52 GWh/year and an investment level of 963 billion VND was put into operation on May 29, 2013.

The second phase with a capacity of 83.2 MW (46 turbines), an output of 268 GWh/year and an investment level of 4,254 billion VND was put into operation on September 30, 2016.

Accounting from the date (May 29, 2013) when the project generated to the power system to March 3, 2020 the Bac Lieu wind farm generated an output of 1 billion kWh.

Bac Lieu wind power farm not only brings to the country benefits of increasing clean energy source, but also contributes to creating the jobs, increasing budget revenue, supporting energy for production, business and good implementing solutions to cope with climate change of Bac Lieu province. At the same time, the project also makes an important contribution to developing the trade and tourism sectors of the Bac Lieu province.

Currently, in Bac Lieu province, there are 4 wind power projects with a total capacity of 292 MW under construction and two of them expected to be completed within 2020 and two other will energize before November 2021.
