Thai Binh SOS Children's Village has been inaugurated

 - On January 21, 2015, in Thai Binh, the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) in collaboration with Thai Binh Provincial People Committee (PPC) and PV Drilling (PetroVietnam) organized the Inauguration Ceremony of Thai Binh SOS Children's Village.

Thai Binh SOS Children's Village - the 16th Village in Vietnam, the construction of which was started from May 2013 on a 25,000 m2 area in Hoang Dieu ward, Thai Binh city, with a total expenditure of VND45.17 billion including 50-50 from PV Drilling and Associates – Members of International SOS Children's Villages as the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland and citizens of these countries.

The village consists of 14 families able to bring up regularly 120-140 orphan children and a kindergarten with 6 classes able to receive and bring up 200 pupils.

Speaking at the ceremony, PV Drilling General Director Pham Tien Dung affirmed: PV Drilling is one of leading units of PetroVietnam has achieved a lot of impressive successes in the production and business. In 2014, the Corporation reached a VND19,500 billion total turnover and a VND2,300 billion profit. The  charitable and social safety activities since a long time ago have become a traditional fine feature of PV Drilling, and been brought into play strongly with every passing day on the territory of  many provinces and cities in the country. Regarding especially Thai Binh province, PV Drilling has already financed two health service stations, 4 schools and Thai Binh women's volleyball team "PVD Thai Binh" for 6 consecutive years (2012 -2017), with a VND 1.5 billion fund per year. PV Drilling is proud very much of being the first Vietnamese business to contribute the money for building SOS Children's Village in Vietnam.

In her speech, the Minister of MOLISA, Ms. Phạm Thi Hai Chuyen high appreciated a sincere and effective assistance of the International SOS Children's Village, international and domestic organizations and individuals in financing funds to bring the good opportunities for underprivileged children in Vietnam generally and Thai Binh province particularly to have a better life and future.

In his turn, Mr. Pham Van Sinh, the Chairman of Thai Binh PPC province expressed sincere thanks to the leaders of PetroVietnam, PV Drilling for their attention, sharing the difficulties in education, health service and building new countryside of Thai Binh province. Thai Binh SOS Children's Village is a project with a profound human culture property, that creates the favorable conditions for orphan and helpless children to have a stable life.

At present, in Thai Binh SOS Children's Village there are 11 families with 60 children brought up and 200 children inherited benefit from anti-malnutrition pilot project. The total number of staffs, employees, teachers, mothers and aunts in the village is over 20 people.
