The Vietnamese contractor constructs the main items of the Nam Neun 1 Hydropower project (in Lao PDR)

Nam Neun 1 Hydropower Project, including 2 units with a total capacity of 124 MW and electricity output of 580 million kWh/year. The Project is at Phianghong Mountain Village, Muang Nonghet District, Xiengkhuang Province, Lao PDR.
The construction contract includes main items such as the rolling weirs, spillways, diversion tunnels, water intakes, tunnels, plant and distribution stations... The power plant contract implementation period is 48 months.
According to the plan, the project is expected to complete the grid connection in the fourth quarter of 2027 and export electricity to Vietnam.

Phongsubthavy Group is one of Laos's largest private enterprises investing in the energy sector, with a project portfolio of up to 2,000 MW. Phongsubthavy Group currently owns 24% of the shares and is one of the major shareholders of EDL-Generation - an enterprise owned by Laos State Electricity (EDL).
In addition to investing in power plants, Phongsubthavy has been cooperating with the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) to invest in building 220 kV Nam Sam - Nong Cong (Thanh Hoa province) and 220 kV Nam Mo - Tuong Duong (Nghe An province) transmission lines for transporting electricity to Vietnam, supplementing the electricity needs of Vietnam's northern provinces.
