A Public telegram of the PM on ensuring electricity supply in 2022 and the following years

In the telegram was specified that the top political task of electricity sector is the electricity supply for production, business and people’s life, especially in complicated development of the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2021, the electricity sector basically ensured electricity supply, however, there were appeared supply – demand unbalances in some regions.
For resolving the raised difficulties and problems and combining with the National economic recovery Program in coming time, PM requires:
1/ The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) should be initiative and co-ordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to direct implementing the solutions for solid guaranteeing national energy security and safe, reliable electricity supply for production-business and people’s life in 2022 and following years, especially in holidays, new year and dry season, and timely report to PM the problems beyond the authority.
2/ The People’s Committees of the provinces and central cities, ministries and under government agencies to make the following activities: Firstly, to assesse and forecast electricity demand for production, consumption, living activities of the localities, ministries and agencies in 2022 and following years up to 2025, and to send it to MOIT (before December 31, 2021) for summarizing and developing a project for ensuring electricity supply.
Secondly, to co-ordinate closely with MOIT in implementing the solutions for guaranteeing energy security, safe and reliable electricity supply.
Thirdly, promoting the measures for electricity saving in accordance with PM Decree No 20/CT-TTg dated May 7, 2020.
3/ EVN should be initiative in electricity forecast, closely monitor development of electricity demand in 2022 and following years for building an optimum operational plan to guarantee safe, reliable and efficient national power system, to timely report to MOIT the issues beyond the authority.
4/ Assigning the Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh to direct MOIT and relevant agencies to make comprehensive, synchronous and efficient solutions to guarantee sufficient electricity supply for production, business and people’s life in the new situation and the following years.
