EVN and Lao partners signed the MOUs on cooperation in researching PPA

Three MOUs signed between EVN and its Lao partners include:

1/ MOU on cooperation between EVN and Lao National Electricity Company in researching Power purchase agreement (PPA) from Nam U, Nam Ngum 4 Hydropower Plants 

2/ MOU on cooperation between EVN and EDL (Electricity de Laos) Generation Company in researching PPA from Nam Chien Hydropower Group.

3/ MOU on cooperation between EVN and Phongsupthavy Group in researching PPA from Se Cong 5, Nam Ngone 1 and Nam Ngone 2 hydropower plants    

Previously, at the end of June 2021, in Hanoi, Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan - General Director of EVN attended the ceremony and exchanged PPA between EVN and the investors of hydropower plants in Laos under the witness of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith.

Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan exchanged PPA between EVN and Phongsupthavy Group from the Nam Yeuang Hydropower Group, including Nam Mo 2, Nam Tai, Nam Sak, Nam Sao, Nam Chao hydropower plants. 

Mr. Nhan also exchanged PPA from Nam Neun 1 hydropower plant with Nam Neun 1 and 3 Kong Sup Hydro Development Company.

Up to now, many hydropower plants in Laos invested by Vietnam and Lao Companies as Xekaman 1 (290 MW), Xekaman SanXay (32 MW), Nam Sak Group (265 MW)… have been exported to Vietnam.

The present MOUs continue to mark a step forward in the friendly relationship between Vietnam and Lao PDR, especially in the energy cooperation.
