Hanoi untangles electricity cable spaghetti

This task is being implemented by EVN Hanoi, the Hanoi Department of Construction and the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications.
This interdisciplinary force will do the work and arrange overhead power lines and telecom cables across the entire street lighting system in central reservations and on the streets in addition to dismantling unsafe lines and cables.
During the implementation, units have to clear defunct lines and cables, while arranging routes to hand over to the local authorities and management agencies, contributing to ensuring the appearance of the urban environment.
The Hanoi Department of Construction in coordination with the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications and the EVN Hanoi have asked telecommunications units to conduct clearance of their lines and cables before the interdisciplinary force begins its work. Seven days before conducting clearance and sorting overhead lines and cables in every street, management units of the entire street lighting system must install steel beams.
Telecommunications units have a maximum time of seven days to complete the identification of their lines and cables and sort those following regulations.
The Hanoi People’s Committee received the document by the Hanoi Department of Construction to consider and approve the list of streets conducting the clearance of overhead power lines and telecom cables. To promote the achieved results, the Hanoi Department of Construction cooperated with the EVN Hanoi to adopt the list of streets during the first period. The EVN Hanoi conducts clearance in 97 routes, while the Hanoi Department of Construction implements three routes from February 15 to September 15. To create the basis for the implementation process, the Hanoi Department of Construction asked the Hanoi People’s Committee to assign them to chair and cooperate with the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications and the EVN Hanoi in order to implement the plan.
In the first six months of last year, the interdisciplinary force conducted clearance and arranged overhead power lines and telecom cables in 95 city routes. The EVN Hanoi cleared 46 routes and the Lighting and Urban Equipment Company, Ltd 45 streets. In addition, the Hoan Kiem District People’s Committee completed clearance of 70 old streets.
