MTA Exhibition Series in Vietnam

 - The TPP and FTA agreement negotiations in 2015 is considered as an important milestone of the growth of the manufacturing industry in Vietnam.

According to the Asian Development Bank, Vietnam’s economy maybe the fastest growing amongst 6 main tracked countries in Southeast Asia. Disbursed foreign investment surged 17.4 percent to a record-high of $14.5 billion in January-December from a year earlier. Foreign investment climbed 12.5 percent. Industrial production jumped 9.8 percent and manufacturing rose 10.6 percent in same period from year earlier.

The industry also sees strong investment flows from global brands such as Huyndai, LG, Intel, Nokia - Microsoft, Canon, Sony, Posco, Doosan, etc. In these, many of them have been built up their factories across Vietnam, mainly concentrated in the Northern and Southern regions, leading to increased demand of equipment, technologies and services in these 2 areas.

To capitalize on these needs, in addition to the annual MTA VIETNAM organized in Ho Chi Minh City, 2016 will also mark the return of the biennial MTA HANOI from the 26th to 28th April. This event is the most effective connecting point for manufacturing industries in the Northern of Vietnam to seek for production machinery - where the international and local technology suppliers can meet up with the right industry buyers.

MTA HANOI: Impressive Statistics and Testimonials in 2014

In the last edition, MTA HANOI2014 successfully attracted 143 exhibitors  from 19 countries and regions, a 24% increase compared to MTA HANOI2012. The exhibitors filled up 3000m2 of exhibition space, clearly divided into 4 main areas: Metal Cutting and Forming Machine; Testing and Measuring Tools and Equipment; Cutting Tools and Tooling System; Supporting Systems and Other Products. In these, there were 3 international group pavilions including Czech (16 companies), Singapore (15 companies) and Taiwan (17 companies).

Mr Petr Zemanek, General Manager of the Association of Engineering Technology, Czech Republic, said “Vietnam’s healthy investment landscape and local manufacturing sectors has positioned the region as one of immense growth potential in the minds of Czech’s industry players. Our participation at MTA HANOI has made it possible for us to promote our home-grown brands and capabilities. Through the multiple networking opportunities available during three show days, we were able to glean valuable knowledge of North Vietnam’s bustling manufacturing community and its prospects for future growth.”

Shared the same comment, Mr. Philip Loh, Managing Director of Bystronic said: “North Vietnam’s increase in appetite for high technology to meet their production needs augurs very well with Bystronic’s range of machines. MTA HANOI provides us with this platform to showcase our capabilities and network with the industry. We are happy with the quality of visitors at this show.”

Meanwhile, Dr Christian Braun, Managing Director of DMG Mori Seki South East Asia, Singapore said “As the capabilities of the Vietnam manufacturing community improves, getting the best and right technology for their production needs is crucial. DMG MORI is pleased that its range of machines has played an important role in growth of the industries here. We have chosen MTA HANOI as our key platform to showcase our technology and we are pleased that we have received good business contacts, and the inquiries for our machines have increased significantly at this year’s show.”

The Well Timed Return of MTA HANOI in 2016

MTA HANOI2016 expects to gather 160 exhibitors from 19 countries and regions (increases around 12% from the last edition in 2014).

As the latest update from the organizer, Singapore Exhibition Services Ltd, key industry players: BIBUS, CKD, NAM SON, NT TOOL, OLAS, SODICK, MACTECH, HAAS FACTORY OUTLET (A division of Bao Son TechTech), etc together with 3 international groups (1 from Singapore and 2 from Taiwan) have confirmed their presences in MTA HANOI2016 to showcase their latest technologies and equipment.

Besides the main exhibition, there are two technical seminars hosted by Multi Engineering Services (MESLAB) and Vietnam Association of Mechanical Industry (VAMI) promising to be the trusted networking and knowledge platforms for industry leaders.

Mr. BT Tee - Deputy Chief, Vietnam Representative Office, Singapore Exhibition Services, the organizer of MTA HANOI2016 shares: “Vietnam remains highly competitive with her educated and skilled workforce, increasingly pro-business investment policies and very competitive wages. We see a longer term trend for more manufacturers making Vietnam an industrial production hub for their global operations in the years to come. As quality standard rises, and production expands, capital

investment will follow so we see Vietnam as the best industrial production base in ASEAN to sell technology into in the years to come. On our part, we will ensure that the relevant buyer groups and industries are well informed of this event in Hanoi and surrounding regions to ensure attendees of MTA HANOI 2016 leave with a productive experience”.

As a part of MTA event series, MTA HANOI was first launched in HANOI in 2010 and the show has since grown to become the most comprehensive manufacturing solutions trade event in the Northern of Vietnam. Highlighting the latest technologies, products and solutions in precision engineering, machine tools and metalworking from around the world, MTA HANOI2016 connects the industry with global movers and shakers in manufacturing. MTA HANOI is organised by Singapore Exhibition Services Pte Ltd and co-organised by VCCI Exhibition Service Co Ltd.
