Siemens AG strengthen and promote cooperation and relationship with Vietnam

During his visit, Mr. Kaeser had the honour to meet the Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, who expressed his appreciation for Siemens’ contributions to the development of Vietnam’s economy and requested Siemens further support in improving Vietnam’s energy infrastructure, mobility and healthcare, as well as in vocational education and training. In response, Mr. Kaeser expressed Siemens’ gratitude for the Vietnamese government support during the past two decades and emphasized the company’s commitment to stay and expand its presence in Vietnam. Both sides have agreed that there are many opportunities for further cooperation in the future, especially in those areas where Vietnam is in the utmost need and where Siemens has the proven advanced technology and expertise.
Mr. Kaeser also had a fruitful discussion with Vice Minister of Transport Mr. Le Dinh Tho about current challenges of Vietnam in the mobility area and potential for the stronger cooperation between Siemens and the Ministry in the coming time. Apart from the metro Line 2 project in Ho Chi Minh City, which Siemens is highly committed to providing its best technical solutions and products, Siemens would like to receive the strong support from the Ministry in promoting its environmental-friendly hybrid bus technology and integrated transportation solutions for big cities of Vietnam.
Mr. Kaeser also discussed with Vice Minister of Planning and Investment Mr. Dang Huy Dong about interesting aspects of FDI and PPP in Vietnam.
At the meetings with the CEO's of VN Electricity and Petro VN top leaders of both sides have agreed to boost the level of cooperation further by closely working in a number of areas such as capacity building, grid optimization, as well as identified potential of cooperation in local manufacturing etc.
