AES (USA) is the investor of the Son My gas power project

MoIT Minister hands the investment certificate on Son My LNG power project for AES Group

Continuing the working program of MoIT mission  in USA from September 28 to October 2, 2019, the MoIT leaders and the relevant units had meetings with US leading enterprises in the energy infrastructure, renewable energy and gas power fields as Black Rock, Gen-X and AES, which are considered to have the strong technological, financial potentials and practical experience in implementing energy projects in many countries.

Regarding AES, the Minister Tran Tuan Anh asked this company as the investor of Son My LNG power project to closely coordinate with Vietnamese partners and relevant agencies to guarantee implementing the project in timely progress, efficiency, compliance with the local laws and helping Vietnamese partners to be developed.

Expressing absolute confidence in the economic development strategy of Vietnam based on assessments of actual results, economic indicators achieved in recent 30 years since the openness of Vietnamese economy, the US Black Stone, Gen-X and AES Groups emphasized the readiness to invest in Vietnam, with a priority to the gas power, LNG and renewable energy projects. These groups also committed to provide finance, transfer technologies and carry out the pilot projects (if it is necessary) for getting the commitments from Vietnamese government to US investors.
