Signing of consultancy contract for Quang Trach 2 LNG Thermal Power Plant Project

Under the contract, the PECC1–PECC3 consortium will carry out the work over 85 months, covering:
1. Bidding consultancy: Preparing bidding documents, evaluating bids, negotiating, and finalizing the EPC contract.
2. EPC contract management consultancy: Supporting the investor in managing design, technology supply, and construction activities.
The Quang Trach 2 LNG Thermal Power Plant Project has a preliminary total investment of over VND 52,490 billion (approx. USD 2.1 billion), with an expected capacity of 1,500 MW, invested by Vietnam Electricity (EVN). This is a national key project, scheduled to commission Unit 1 in 2028, Unit 2 in 2029, and complete the entire plant by 2030.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Kim Cuong, General Director of PECC1, emphasized: “With experience gained from many national key projects, PECC1 is committed to mobilizing maximum resources and working closely with our partners to ensure the highest standards of progress, quality, and efficiency for the Quang Trach 2 Project. This is not only an important mission for our company but also our responsibility in contributing to national energy security.”
Representatives of EVNPMB2 highly appreciated the reputation, capacity, and expertise of the PECC1–PECC3 consortium, which has been involved in large-scale power projects, including Quang Trach 1, BOT Vung Ang 2, Duyen Hai 3, and Vinh Tan 4. The participation of these leading consulting firms is expected to help ensure the project’s schedule, quality, and investment efficiency.
