In the proposal, the Government proposed that the National Assembly allocate a central budget capital plan of over 2,520 billion VND to the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) to extend the national grid to Con Dao District.
According to Minister Ho Duc Phoc: The electricity supply to this island district uses diesel, but it is not enough to meet electricity demand and electricity prices are very high. Specifically, electricity produced from oil is about 5,000 - 6,000 VND/1 kWh.
The total investment of this project is about 4,950 billion VND, of which capital from the central budget is about 2,526 billion VND, the remaining capital is EVN's capital (nearly 2,424 billion VND). The grid power supply project to Con Dao district was approved by the Government on June 16, 2023 (according to Decision No. 708/QD-TTg), with a voltage level of 110 kV (on land, in the air, underground cables and other items), with a length of nearly 104 km. The project has the goal of providing stable and safe electricity for economic development, ensuring national security and defense, and meeting the expectations of the people of Con Dao district.
The project includes main items such as:
1. Construction of a new 110 kV line (1 circuit), from the 110 kV feeder compartment at Vinh Chau 220 kV transformer station (Vinh Chau town, Soc Trang) to the 110/22 kV transformer station in Con Dao.
2. Expanding a compartment of 110 kV line at Vinh Chau 220 kV transformer station.
3. The new construction of a 110/22 kV transformer station in Con Dao using GIS technology, scale 2x63 MVA.
The implementation period of this project is from 2023 - 2026./.
