The production and business activities of Vinacomin are stably maintained

In the third quarter of 2023, the weather in Vietnam, especially in Quang Ninh province, happened unusually, storms with the heavy rain prolonged latent risks with greatly affecting the production of coal mining units, but the production and business activities of Vinacomin continue to stably maintained and Vinacomin basically completed the set targets and plans.

According to the report on production and business situation in September 2023, the Group produced 2.75 million tons, imported 560 thousand tons, sold 3.5 million tons of coal and produced 120 thousand tons of equivalent aluminum and sold 137 thousand tons of the aluminum. Vinacomin also produced 5.5 thousand tons of copper ore concentrate and produced, consumed 616 million kWh of electricity. The total turnover of the Group achieved 13.69 trillion VND.

By the end of the first 9 months of 2023, the Group's raw coal mining output of the Group achieved 28.68 million tons, reaching 73% of the yearly plan, equal to 94% compared to the same period in 2022; sold 36.09 million tons, equal to 77% of the plan and equal to 101% compared to the same period in 2022 with domestic sale was 35.66 million tons and for household electricity reached 30.02 million tons, equal to 78% of the plan and 114% compared the same period in 2022.

The production of electricity and minerals were all complete the plan. Thanks to those results, the total turnover of the Group in 9 months of the year estimated at 127.02 trillion VND, pied to the State Budget 23.44 trillion VND, an increase of 42% over the same period of 2022.

In particular, the enrollment work in the first 3 quarters of the year also achieved positive results: 5,228 new students were recruited, reaching 115% of the plan and equal to 143% compared to the same period in 2022; 1,714 graduates have been placed in jobs by receiving units. Noting the achieved results, General Director of the Group Dang Thanh Hai commented: Entering the fourth quarter, economic and technical indicators are basically stable as planned. The General Director requested that units need to make detailed economic and technical, production and business and sale plans for 2024. Among these there are must be detained and initiative plan for coal mixing and at the same time deploying investment projects in accordance with the regulations and stipulations; The units will do a good job of internal management, tighten development orientation in accordance with each unit's strategy; strengthen developing the behavioral culture and corporate culture for stable and sustainable development.

According to the fourth quarter 2023 plan, the Group will produce 8.5 million tons of coal, for reaching 37.2 million tons in the whole year; import 3.6 million tons of coal and sell 11.5 million tons of coal, reaching 48 million tons of coal. In the last 3 months of the year, the Group will expect to produce 2.92 billion kWh of electricity, reaching 9.6 billion kWh for the whole year.
