At the meeting on the status of implementing investment in the third circuit of the Quang Trach-Pho Noi 500 kV line project, on the afternoon of October 23 at the Government Headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Tran Hong Ha requested the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) to strictly implement detained plans and critical paths for implementing the project progress in accordance with the Prime Minister's direction (at Document No. 745/TTg-CN dated August 15, 2023).

Information from the Office of the People's Committee of Nam Dinh province said that the Gulf Energy Development Group (Thailand) led by Mr. Panawit Sidejchayabhon - General Director of Vietnam Gulf has just had a meeting with leaders of Nam Dinh province to learn more about the Investment opportunity in the power – LNG center and LNG terminal warehouse for the Northern region.

In Hanoi, Mr. Dang Hoang An - Chairman of the Member Council of the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) just had a working meeting with the Korean Mission of the GS Energy led by Mr. Kim Sung Won - Director of Global Energy Development. The GS Energy proposed EVN to support and assist in implementing and commercial operating process of the Long An 1 and 2 LNG - Power Projects.

The Ca Mau Department of Industry and Trade (CMDOIT) has just submitted a document proposing the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) consider Ca Mau province to develop 41 new power projects including 29 onshore, near-shore and offshore wind power projects; 10 gas power and other power projects and 2 wind and solar power projects for hydrogen production.

The Minister of Industry and Trade has just issued a Decision approving the coal price framework and electricity generation price framework in 2023. Accordingly, the coal price is 1,808,000 VND/ton, the electricity generation price framework for coal-fired power plants is 0 - 1,559.70 VND/kWh and the electricity generation price range for hydropower plants is 0 - 1,110 VND/kWh (the above price framework does not include value added tax (VAT) and other related taxes and costs).

In Ta Bhing commune, Nam Giang district, Quang Nam province, The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) has just started up the construction of the Monsoon - Thanh My 500 kV line project (the section on Vietnamese territory).

On September 25, in Hanoi, Mr. Pham Hong Phuong, A Deputy General Director of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) worked with a group of sponsors of the Bac Ai Pumped Storage Hydropower project including the French Development Agency (AFD), the European Investment Bank (EIB), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), German Reconstruction Bank (KfW).

The Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) has just had a working meeting with the Southern Laos Power System Management Board (under Laos Electricity Corporation - EDL) on content related to power grid transformation in Quang Tri province from 35 kV to operation in 22 kV voltage level and re-signed the power purchase agreement between EVNCPC and EDL

On September 6, 2023, in Ho Chi Minh City, The Power Engineering Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company 2 (PECC2) signed a consulting contract to survey and establish a feasibility study report and specialized reports of the project to supply power from the national grid for Con Dao district (Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) with Power Project Management Board 3 – The Representative of ing Vietnam Electricity of Vietnam (A project investor).

The Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee has just assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to chair and in coordination with the relevant agencies periodically (on the 22nd of every month) to advise the Provincial People's Committee to report to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) on the situation of construction investment implementation, petitions, proposals related to the implementation of Quynh Lap LNG power project (Hoang Mai town, Nghe An province).

The Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) has just reported to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang on the project appraisal

Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) informed that the electricity generation of the whole system in July 2023 reached 26.20 billion kWh - an increase of 7.1% in comparison with the same period in 2022. The accumulated in the first 7 months of 2023, electricity generation of the whole system reached 160.58 billion kWh - an increase of 1.9% in comparison with the same period in 2022.

The Prime Minister has just signed Decision No. 868/QD-TTg, on July 19, 2023 for mobilizing and appointing Mr. Dang Hoang An - Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade to hold the position of The Chairman of the Member Council of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN).

The General Director of the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) has just chaired a meeting on the progress of the sections Quang Trach - Quynh Luu - Thanh Hoa - Nam Dinh 1 - Pho Noi (for short as Quang Trach - Pho Noi) of the transmission 500 kV line. At the meeting, EVNNPT, the units assigned to manage and operate the project, and the consulting units discussed and agreed on the content and working method to accelerate the project progress.

The Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien (Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the National Steering Committee for Electricity Development) has just chaired a meeting with the Committee for Management of State Capital at Enterprises, EVN, EVNNPT, Viettel, and 9 concerned localities (in the form of direct, combination with online) to discuss and agree on solutions to speed up the implementation progress of circuit 3 (extended) of 500 kV project.
