EVN and PowerChina Zhongnan signed a cooperation agreement to develop power projects

 - On April 3, 2024, in Hanoi, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) and PowerChina Zhongnan - PCZ (China) signed a memorandum of cooperation to promote the experience and strengths of each party to enhance opportunities for cooperation in developing power projects.

EVN General Director Nguyen Anh Tuan and PCZ President and General Director Chau Phong at the singing ceremony.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, EVN General Director Nguyen Anh Tuan said that the Government has approved Power Development Plan VIII and PDP Implementation Plan.

Accordingly, developing Vietnam's power system meets the needs for economic and social development in each period, ensuring electricity is one step ahead. Make a strong energy transition from fossil fuels to new and renewable energy sources to reduce environmental pollution and greenhouse gas emissions...

Currently, the installed capacity of Vietnam's entire power system reaches about 80,000 MW, ranking first in the ASEAN region, of which EVN and its member units own about 38% of the installed capacity of the entire system.

Regarding PCZ, Chairman and General Director Chau Phong Zhou Pheng said: that PCZ has a history of 75 years of formation and development. PCZ has participated in more than 200 hydropower projects and over 80 pumped storage hydropower projects in China. At the same time, PCZ has also participated in planning and designing wind power and solar power projects in China and other countries.

In the Vietnamese market, PCZ has been present since 2000 and participates in implementing power projects.

The signing of the cooperation memorandum between EVN and PCZ is based on the foundation of good cooperative relations between the two parties, aiming to promote the capacity and strengths of each unit to strengthen cooperation in developing power projects.

After the signing, the two sides will continue to detail plans and implement cooperative activities in 2024 and the following years.
