Proposing to convert A0 into one member company Ltd

According to the report of the National Steering Committee on Power Development: In order to further consolidate and perfect the competitive wholesale electricity market, in associating with the implementation of restructuring the electricity industry in the 2016-2020 period, on the basis of the competitive electricity market in previous years, the MoIT officially put the competitive wholesale electricity market into operation on January 1, 2019. Accordingly, from the beginning of 2019, EVN was no longer an only buyer in the electricity wholesale market.
On the selling side, Vietnam currently has 96 power plants with a total installed capacity of about 25,600 MW (accounting for 47.8% of the total installed capacity of the whole system) directly participating in the market.
The report also said that in 2020, the MoIT will continue to consolidate, develop and expand the competitive wholesale electricity market.
Regarding the restructure of the power sector, the MoIT has consulted with the Committee for Management of State Capital at Enterprises on conversing the National Load Dispatch Center (A0) into one-member company Ltd. for gradually improving the independence of the electricity system and the market operating units in Vietnam.
The National Load Dispatch Center established under Decision No. 180 NL/TCCB-LD of April 11, 1994 of the Ministry of Energy (now the Ministry of Industry and Trade) is a State-owned enterprise belonged to the Electricity of Vietnam.
The National Load Dispatch Center has its member units which are the Dispatch Centers of Northern, Central and Southern Power Systems.
