Starting Hai Lang LNG Power Center project (phase 1)

Previously, on February 4, 2021, in Document No. 154/TTg-CN, the Prime Minister agreed to supplement Hai Lang LNG Power Center (phase 1) with a capacity of 1,500 MW to the adjusted project of Power Development Planning VII (PDP VII adjusted).
The Hai Lang LNG Power Center Project (phase 1), a project of investment cooperation between a Vietnamese private economic group T&T and the Korean HANWHA, KOSPO, KOGAS enterprises is located in Hai An and Hai Ba communes, Hai Lang district, belonged to the Energy Complex of Quang Tri Southeast Economic Zone. The project occupies 120 ha for Hai Lang LNG Terminal Warehouse (phase 1) with a receiving capacity of 1.5 million tons of LNG per year and can receive ships with 170,000 – 226,000 m3 LNG and a Power Center with a capacity of 1,500 MW (phase 1).
The Hai Lang power center will be developed by the Combined Cycle Gas Turbines of the new high efficient generation. The Hai Lang LNG Power Project expects to be put into commercial operation by 2026 – 2027 in accordance with the Decision of the Prime Minister in Document No. 154 /TTg-CN dated 4/2/2021.
