Construction of the super solar power project in Ninh Thuan will be started this year

Thien Tan solar power project will be constructed on an area of 1400 ha in Phuoc Trung commune, Bac Ai district, Ninh Thuan province. The project with a total investment of over $ 2 billion will be divided by 5 plants and developed by stages.

The first plant, capacity of 50 MW will be constructed in 2017 and put into operation 2018.

Thien Tan Company expects to complete all the five plants, among them the forth and fifth ones have a capacity of 300 MW, by 2020.

So far, Thien Tan company has completed several investment implementing works as: signing contracts for purchasing solar panels from First Solar Group with a value of hundreds of US$; ensuring financial capability; surveying, setting up topographic maps; establishing documents for project environmental impact assessment.

At the working meeting, Thien Tan Company expressed its desire for Ninh Thuan PPC leaders to create all the favorable conditions, especially issue the prices for compensation lands,   for Thien Tan Company to start the project construction in 2017 as planed.

Regarding Ninh Thuan PPC, Mr. Pham Van Hau, Vice Chairman high appropriated the solar power project in socio-economic development of Ninh Thuan province and considered successful achievement of the project will be an important impulse for domestic and foreign investors in renewable energy development in Vietnam.

“In coming time, Ninh Thuan PPC will direct relevant provincial departments and agencies to remove obstacles, resolutely solve outstanding problems and create favorable conditions for Thien Tan Company to implement project soon” Mr. Hau said.
