JinkoSolar Obtains Product Carbon Footprint Verification from TUV Rheinland |
According to the latest and the most stringent international carbon footprint standard, the assessment is conducted by evaluating the overall environmental impact of these two series of modules through “cradle to grave” all life cycle stages – from raw material processing through to product production, transportation, waste management and final disposal, covering evaluation fields of energy management, life cycle analysis, raw material and supply chain management etc.
Product carbon footprint is a method for assessing the entire life cycle greenhouse gas emissions of products. In the context of carbon neutrality goals and increased demand for climate-friendly products, all phases of a product’s life has an impact on the environment and these impacts should be quantified and examined in order to pinpoint optimization potential.
"We are very proud to have obtained the product carbon footprint verification for our 163” and 182” module series from Rheinland. It is a strong endorsement to the efforts that we have been paying on carbon emission reduction and energy efficiency improvement, for example implementing the emission reduction concept across the entire lifecycle processes, quantifying GHG data and identifying “emission hotspots”, therefore to take preventative and proactive environmental management actions correspondingly,” said Kangping Chen, CEO of JinkoSolar. "As the world’s first solar company joining RE100 and EP100, JinkoSolar will launch more carbon-neutral products in the future, continue to optimize our energy management systems and keep improving energy efficiency within our manufacturing facilities globally. With today's Verification from TUV Rheinland, we are able to further support our customers and end users who care about carbon footprint reduction."
